feeling better

I stayed at home today, and i'm feeling a little better. I watched the nba finals for a little bit then ate dinner. I hope I feel a lot better by tommarow. I'm glad that we are getting out for most of this week so that I can get some rest.

vacation.

I am thinking of going on vacation this next weekend to Reno or Arizona. That would be a lot of fun because i haven't been there in a while. I'm also planning to go to Virginia city for the 4th of July parade.

Bored

I'm probably gonna stay at home today because i'm feeling sick and i'm really bored. I can't wait till tommarow and until school is over finally.

Portrait of the artist as a young man

Portrait of the artist as a young man is the book my group chose for the project in Mr. Thompson's class. At first i thought it was going to be a pretty good book, but it was incredably boring and hard to understand. It is going to be tough to present it to the class.

Tired

I'm really tired and i don't want the weekend to end so quickly. I am hoping that this week of school goes by fast. I am also excited about summer break coming up, i can finally get some rest.

Out of town

I was in San Francisco for the weekend to visit my uncle who's in town for a little bit. It was pretty fun, we went to a nice restaurant. The food was really good and I had a good time.

horrible injury

I saw one of the worst injuries on friday when i went biking with my friend. My friend was riding his bike and went down a hill, but the tire of the bike caught onto a rock or something and flipped over. He landed face first on the ground. He is getting a couple stitches and will get out of the hospital tommarow.

Finals are approaching

It's almost finals week and summer break. I am not really worried much about the finals. The only one i am kind of nervous about is the French final. I am going to have to study a little bit for that one but everything else seems pretty easy.

summer is almsot here

With summer just a little bit away i'm starting to think of what my goals are over the summer. I'm probably gonna practice for basketball and do a lot of running. I'm also thinking of going on vacation for a little bit. I am happy school is almost over and can't wait till vacation.

sick... again

I am really pissed off because i am sick again this weekend. I don't know how i got sick but it really sucks and i can't really do anything. I am probably gonna go sleep now.

Redwood City

I went to Redwood city yesterday for most of the day. It was my counsin's birthyday and there was a lot of family there. I had an ok time, but it was pretty boring because there was nothing to do and it lasted for 6 hours.

hot

It's been really hot this weekend. Yesterday it was 100+ degrees for most of the afternoon. This means that summer is right around the corner and so is the end of school. I like it better when it is some what hot than when it is cold.

Sick

I've been sick this whole weekend so i couldn't go anywhere at all. I have a fever and a sore throat. I hope i get better by tommarow, but i'm not 100% sure that i will. I am really disapointed that I can't leave the house today at all.

Gunderson vs. Prospect (volleyball 3)

We played our third game against prospect at home. This was our final game of the season. We played pretty well but we lost to them in two games. We were disapointed that we lost our final game, but we played very well.

Gunderson vs. Oak Grove (volleyball 3)

We played Oak grove on tuesday at home. We beat them pretty easily and played pretty well too. This is the only team we have managed to beat in all 3 games that we played against them. Only one more game until the season ends.

tired

Just got home from playing basketball and i'm really tired. I'm spending all my remaining energy writing these blogs and i'm probably gonna fall asleep any minute now. I am mad that the weekend is over so quickly.

Gunderson vs. Pioneer (volleyball 3)

We played pioneer for the last time of this sseason at Pioneer. We played the best game we've played all season but they played a little better and pulled out with a win. We played as a unit and won the first game. they barely won the second game, and then beat us in the third game 15-7.

Gunderson vs. Oak Grove (volleyball 2)

We played oak grove on tuesday at home in 3 games. We won the first game 25-7, they won the second game 25-21, then we finished the match in a 15-10 game. We played pretty well the first and third games but our intensity was low the second game.

Final project

I am glad that the final project is a group project, because i don't wantr to do a lot of work by myself. I am a little nervous about it though, because of how many points it is worth and because you can't really make it up if you get a bad grade.

Gunderson vs. Prospect (volleyball 2)

We played our second game against prospect in their gym on thursday. We played one of the worst games of the season and lost the third match 25-13. We didn't play with any intensity or confidence. I hope we make up for it next game and get a couple more wins this season.

Gunderson vs. Pioneer (volleyball 2)

We played Pioneer again, but this time it was at our house. We played an alright first match and a good 2nd match. We lost the 1st and third matches and ended up losing the game. We have gotten better at our hitting and passing, but there are still some things we need to work on.

Summer is coming

Summer is getting closer, only a couple more weeks. It's already started to get hotter and hotter these days. I am excited that in a couple weeks summer break will start. I am also excited about being a junior next year when school starts again.

Sacramento

I did manage to go to Sacramento yesterday with my Dad and my cousin. We went t my Uncle's house for a couple hours. After that we all went to help my uncle fix the roof on another house he owns. We stayed for a couple more hours then we returned to San Jose.

Trip canceled

I didn't get to go to Europe this week. I had to stay home and take care of my grandmother because she was sick. I am kind of dissapointed that i didn't get to go. I hope I can go sometime soon.

Vacation

I am enjoying my spring break and i will leave for Europe on Wednesday. I am glad that i can get this time off to finally visit some of my family that is still in Eastern Europe. I haven't seen most of them in over 3 years.

Gunderson vs. Lincoln (volleyball)

Ourt varsity team played Lincoln on Friday and won at home. I couldn't attend the game but i heard that our varsity team did really well and swept them in 3 matches. Our next game is against pioneer on 4/21.

Gunderson vs. Oak Grove (volleyball)

We finally got the 1st win of the season and snapped our losing streak at Oak Grove on Thursday. The first match was kind of close but we won it 25-21. The second match was an absolute embarrasment, we killed Oak Grove 25-8. We played good, but we won mostly because Oak Grove is a horrible team.

Spring break

I'm excited about spring break coming up. I am going on vacation to Bosnia to visit some of my family and will probably stay there the whole week. I haven't visited Europe in over 2 years, so it should be fun. I am also happy that school is almost over, only 6 more weeks until summer.

Losing streaks

I hate losing streaks in sport. It's harder to win when you're coming off of a loss than it is when you just won a game. It also makes you feel bad about the way you played last game when your team is constantly losing. In volleyball we haven't won a single game yet (JV). I hope that we can beat Oak Grove next Thursday and snap this losing streak.

Gunderson vs. Prospect (volleyball)

We played Prospect on tuesday at home. We played a good game but it wasn't enough to win. We lost by 2 points in the 3rd game of the series. The game was pretty close from the beginning, we won the first game, then they won the second. We got the lead in the last game but they played harder and got the win.

AP classes

AP classes wont be as hard as most people think. There will be more work and more tests but not too much more than this year. The teachers that are saying that AP will be really hard are saying that to stop people who aren't serious about the class from taking it. During freshman year alot of teachers said that honors and accelerated would be hard but they ended up being pretty easy as lnog as you did the work.

Gunderson vs. Pioneer (volleyball)

We played our rivals pioneer on thursday at their house. This was the best we have played so far and we barely lost in the last match of the game. They won the first match of the game, then we came back and won the second. Then we played the third game to the last point but ended up losing, but we played a great game though.

gunderson vs. Lynbrook (volleyball)

We played lynbrook as an away game on tuesday. We started the game off pretty badly and lost the first match by alot. It didn't get much better in the next match either. We ended up losing in 2 matches and our coach was mad at us for giving up. We ran alot the next day.

Volleyball season

Only two more weeks until volleyball season officially starts. Our first opponent of the year will be Pioneer and it will be an away game. I think we will do very well when the season actually starts and that we will get alot better during preseason.

Fundraisers

I think our sports program should try to do more fundraisers to earn money for equipment and the bus costs. Each sport team maybe does one or two fundraisers in the whole season. Usually this money only goes to buy some of the equipment, never to pay for the buses and other needed things.

Gunderson vs. Cupertino (volleyball)

We played Cupertino on Tuesday at home. This was probably the closest game we have had all season. At the end we only lost by one point in the 3rd match. We lost the first match and won the second match. Our team has improved alot.

Research Paper

I am finally getting around to starting my research paper. I finished about a page and a half today. I am kind of worryed that i might run out of stuff to write, because 10 pages is a lot. Also I might wait till the last second to finish the last few pages of it which i is what i do for most essays.

Cahsee Test

I have heard that this test is going to be really easy and that most peple will pass it easily. I have never really liked math that much as a subject but it's never really been too hard either. I hope that the test is as easy as everyone says it is. I got room N -1 and i have no clue where that is.

Last few Volleyball games

The last 3 games the volleyball team has had have been varsity only because the other schools didn't have a j.v. team. Our varsity team did pretty good against all three of the other teams though.

Gunderson vs. Branham (volleyball)

We played Branham today at home for our third game of the season. We lost the first match by a couple points. Then lost the second one as well by 9 points. We played alot better this game then we did t game but we can still improve alot.

Gunderson vs. Wilcox (volleyball)

This was our second game of the preseason for volleyball. First was Santa Clara, which we lost. We lost this game by a couple points in the last round. We played pretty well but we didn't communicate too well and we didn't move around as quick as we should have.

Hard choice

This week i had to choose between doing track, Volleyball or joining another basketball league. It was a tough decision to make because all of these sports could help me for basketball next year. I ended up choosing volleyball because i heard it could get my vertical higher which could help alot for the basketball season.

P.E.

I think PE is a pretty useless class. The only thing it really does is kind of keep you in shape. But most people don't even really do anything so it fails at that too. It teaches people about sports that they probably won't even play again after high school. It's just an easy A.

Best season in 2 decades

The gunderson Varsity team won the league championship for the first time in 13 years. They finished the regular season with an almost undefeated 14-2. They also got to the second round of ccs for the first time in over 15 years.

Varsity basketball team vs. Harker

The varsity team played at Harker academy on Thursday in the 2nd round of CCS. They lost by 12 points to the Harker team lost their chance to go to the 3rd round. They lost mostly because of bad defence and no communication during the game. Varsity's season record, including post- season, is 14-3.

Basketball season over

This season went by quick, as we finished with a 6-8 record. This is a great improvement from last year's record of 3-11, of which 2 wins were forfeits. Our varsity tteailgoing off to play in the CCS tournament after clinching their first league title since 1995. I hope that we improve even more next year and go undefeated in league.

Gunderson vs. Lincoln (Basketball 2)

We played Lincoln at home as our last game of the 2008-2009 season. We started off quickly with our offence and after about 2 minutes the score was 8 to 0. We beat them at the end by 30 points and wrapped up our season with a 6-8 record. Our varsity team lost their game by 5 points and finished with a 12-2 record, one of the best records in a while. Varsity also clinched the league title and will be playing in CCS.

Gunderson vs. YB (basketball 2)

We played YB on thursday at home. We beat them by 13 points after almost giving up a 39 point lead in the 2nd half of the game. We played really well this game and have been improving rapidly over the season. Our record is 5-8.

Rainy days

I really hate it when it starts to rain, especially on weekends. It ruins my whole day since I can't go outside. I was going to go play football to day but now I cant because it started to rain.

Gunderson vs. Live Oak (basketball 2)

We played at Live Oak on Friday as the 12th game of the season. We beat them by 30 points on their home court. We played alot better this game then we did in the last few games. Our record is 4-8.

Gundeson vs. Prospect (basketball 2)

We lost to Prospect on wednesday at home. We lost to them by alot, eeven though we werre only down by 10 at the end of the first half. We played alright, but could have done alot better. We didn't rebound well and played bad defence.

Upcoming week

This upcoming week is gonna be very slow. I have a lot of stuff to do and a lot of tests in my classes. But I want it to go by as fast as possible because I can't wait till the long weekend.

Gunderson vs. San Jose High (basketball 2)

We played at San jose High on Friday at 6:00. We started off kind of slow but started playing alot better as the game started to progress. We got on a really good run and ended up winning the game. Our record is 3-7

Gunderson Vs. Branham (basketball 2)

We played Branham on Wednesday at 5:30 in our home gym. We lost to them by alot. we started off the game pretty good and were tied after the first quarter. But we lost the game because of lazy defence and a slow offencive start. Our record was 2-7

Bored

I just woke up and i have nothing to do. This is probably going to be a boring day for me. The only thing i'm probably gonna do today is watch the superbowl.

Gunderson vs. James lick (basketball 2)

We played at James Lick on Friday. We started off really well with a 30-15 lead right before halftime. But JL wanted to win this game more than we did and came back very quickly. After a couple of steals and turnovers they were only down by 2. We ended up losing the game at the very end with 2 seconds left. Our record is 2-6

Gunderson vs. Lincoln (Basketball)

We played at Lincoln on Wednesday at 6:00. We played a good game and beat them by around 15 points. We started off very good against them and our defence helped us get the win. Our record is 2-5.

Obama

I am glad the Obama is finally president. I hated having Bush as president. He made alot of mistakes and ruined alot of people's lives. I hope that Obama does a good job and helps fix the economy and foreign relations.

Gunderson vs YB (basketball)

We played at Yerba Bueno High School yesterday for our sixth game of this season. This was also a very close and exciting game. We lost to them in the last few minutes of the game after leading by 5 for most of the game. Our record is 1-5.

Gunderson vs. Live Oak (basketball)

We played Live oak on Wednesday at home. We lost to them in the last seconds of the game. This was probably the most exciting game we have had all season. We were down by 1 point with 8 seconds left but couldn't score. Our record was 1-4 at this point.

Night

I think that "Night" will be an interesting story to read in class because it is about something that actually happened and affected alot of people during the 1940's. I am sure that this will be a sad, but interesting story to read.

Gunderson vs. Prospect (Basketball)

Our fourth season game was at Prospect on Friday. We lost to them during the fourth quarter by 10 points. Our record for the season is 1-3, and we play Live Oak on Wednesday and YB on Friday.

Gunderson vs. San Jose High (basketball)

We played San Jose high on thursday at home. It was our third season game and our first win of the 2008-2009 season. We beat them by more than 30 points and our team has greatly improved since the season started.

*First Love

The first time I fell in love was in 2nd grade. It wasn’t really love, it was more of a crush at that age. At that time I was going to Latimer Elementary School in Campbell. The name of the Girl I had a crush on was Jessica. I never actually talked to her because at that time I was too young to really know what love and having a crush is; also she was about 2 years older than me. Another reason I didn’t want to talk to her was because I didn’t think she would want to talk to me because I wasn’t as athletic or smart as some of the other guys that went to my school. The reason I knew who she was is because her class was next to mine and some of her friends knew me also. There were times were I wanted to talk to her but I could never get the courage to do it. One such time was during some science thing we had to do with the 4th graders next door in groups of six and she was in my group. Another time was during an assembly in which we sat about 4 feet away from each other. I didn’t tell anyone at my school that I had a crush on her even though some of my friends probably didn’t even know who she was. I thought that some of the ones that did might tell her and that would be pretty embarrassing.
At this age there were a lot of things that would be embarrassing about talking with a girl. One of them was that most boys thought that girls had cooties. Right now this is clearly a childish thought but back then almost everyone thought it was true. Another thing that was embarrassing about it was that at this time most guys didn’t ask girls out if they were older than them or sometimes didn’t ask girls out at all until middle school. Those were just some of the things that stopped me from talking to her. Some of the reasons I really liked her were that she was very pretty and she was smart. She also had some of the same interests as me in certain things. Another reason I probably liked her was because she was older than me. She was also nicer than most of the other girls that went to my elementary school.
After summer break, and when 3rd grade summer my first goal of the year was to talk to her. I then found out that she had left the school and had moved to Missouri. I felt kind of bad that I hadn’t talked to her and was kind of mad at myself for not being brave enough. After a couple of days I stop thinking about it and moved on. I decided to write about this story because it’s the first one to come to my head about love.

Gunderson Vs. Branham (basketball)

We played Branham of Friday at their school as our second game of the season. This was also a good game, but just like before we left with a loss. This time the game wasn't as close as our last one but it wasn't as bad as our preseason games.

Gunderson football weightlifting

I dont think it is a good idea for the coaches of football to make it mandatory for everyone to lift weights during the offseason. This will get in the way of other sports and activities people have to do. The schedule for the weightlifting class is right before school and right after school.

Gunderson vs. James lick (basketball)

We played James Lick on Wednesday January 7th at home. It was our first game of the season. We played a good game but ended up losing by 2 points in the last minute of the game.
